According to WHO, the disease caused by flooding can be categorized into two types, namely water-borne diseases (water-borne disease) and waterborne diseases (vector-borne disease).

Water-borne diseases (water-borne disease) can be caused by the following:

Bacteria and parasites
Water-borne diseases occur when the flood water flows carrying the seeds of parasites and harmful bacteria, eg E. coli bacteria were washed from sanitation.
