May reduce the risk of heart for Women with Eating Strawberry - Strawberries are well known for its benefits to health. Apparently in addition to good for teeth, strawberries can also reduce the risk of heart disease in women.

This research is not only focused on strawberries, but also blueberries. Both pieces are believed to have the same researchers of plant compounds called flavonoids.

The content of flavonoids can be found in foods such as dark chocolate, grapes, red wine, blackberry, and eggplant.

According to the researchers, the flavonoids can prevent heart disease by helping to dilate blood vessels to fight plaque buildup which is the cause of blockages in the coronary arteries in the heart.

Professor Eric Rimm, head of the research team reveals findings appear in the journal Circulation that the blueberries and strawberries can be inserted into a woman's diet can have a significant impact on the prevention of heart disease.

"Flavonoids are often found in fruits and vegetables, there is a possibility that other foods will have content also has the same health benefits," he said as quoted by the Telegraph, Wednesday (16/01/2013).

The study involved 93,600 women aged 25 and 42 years.

The results found that women who ate strawberries and blueberries in a week, may reduce the risk of heart disease by 32% compared to other women who ate less fruit in a month.

This finding connects the benefits of fruit with risk factors such as age, high blood pressure, family history of heart attacks, weight loss, exercise, smoking, caffeine and alcohol consumption.
