Physiology Eat Children and Appropriate Snacks for Kids - For this study, researchers analyzed the results of Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey National Child in 2007. This survey collects information diet (diet) and physical activity of 4283 Australian children aged two to 16 years. The researchers looked at consumption of salt, sugar and drink sugary liquids respondents.

As a result, 62 percent of children tend to prefer sweetened beverages after eating foods high salinity. While as many as 34 percent of them children, to consume more than one drink a sugary drink per day. Thereby causing them to be overweight or obese. If counted, the children who choose to consume sugary drinks to 0.5 oz more sugar for every gram of salt.

Grimes added, based on the study became increasingly apparent need for watching how much salt is consumed by children to help them grow up healthy. High salt diet not only puts children at risk of serious long-term health problems, such as developing high blood pressure later in life which is a major cause of stroke and heart disease, which is likely to contribute to the level of overweight and obesity. Parents can reduce the salt in the diets of children by not providing a salt shaker from the table, reducing the intake of snacks and limit the use of processed foods that are high in salt.
